More than just a fun summer camp!
Campfires, swimming, sleeping bags and stories around a dark campsite — these are just a few memories that come to mind when thinking about youth summer camps. Chickasaw Nation camps, clinics and academies provide these memory-building foundations and much more.
Throughout the year, the Chickasaw Nation offers many opportunities for students to grow in their favorite sports and activities. Our variety of activities are designed to provide a safe and positive environment for personal skills development and motivation to help our youth achieve future success. Most of the camps integrate Chickasaw language and culture into daily activities.
More camps will be added soon. Please check back for STEM, cultural, environmental, language and art camp, clinic and academy opportunities.
Things to Consider When Choosing a Camp
- Does your desired camp overlap with another?
- Will the chosen camp fit into your family’s schedule?
- Does your child like to spend the night away?
- Is your child interested in the activities offered at the camp?
- Is transportation provided or will you need to make arrangements?
- Does your child prefer indoor or outdoor activities?
Eligibility
All camp spots are reserved based on Chickasaw preference, however, many welcome all youth. Please see each camp for details. Some camps require documents such as proof of citizenship, report cards or essays. These requirements will be listed on the camp page and on the application. Incomplete applications cannot be processed and can delay or prohibit your reservation.
Some camps have age requirements. The applicant must be within the age range by the date of the camp, clinic or academy.
Each listing will include information about the camp, clinic or academy and let you know if the camp is overnight or for the day, if transportation is provided, if meals will be served and what environment to plan for.
How to Apply
Each camp page includes application deadline, details and eligibility requirements, as well as the online application. Camp applications can be submitted online, faxed or mailed. Please see the contact information for each camp on its web page.
Application and acceptance works as a reservation for your spot in a camp, clinic or academy. Please only apply for camps you plan to attend.
Selection Process
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance to the camp.
Once your application is processed, you will receive a notification by email or postal mail. If your reservation is confirmed, you may receive additional forms to complete with instructions and a deadline to maintain your reservation.
Canceling Your Reservation
If your child is unable to attend a camp, clinic or academy for any reason, please notify camp staff as soon as possible so your reservation can be transferred to another family. Lack of camp attendance without notification, if unable to attend, can impact future selection for camps, clinics and academies. Contact information for each opportunity is listed on the camp page.
