This youth camp features non-traditional classroom settings and instruction from professionals in environmental fields. Topics covered by the camp include water and air pollution, recycling, horticulture and wildlife.

Applicants must be youth ages 8-12. Chickasaw preference is exercised.

Program Details

Learn about the environment with hands-on activities that teach about our connection to natural resources.

Environmental camp features non-traditional classroom settings and instruction from professionals in environmental fields. Field trips provide campers with a holistic approach to our spiritual connection to nature.

Topics covered by the camp include water and air pollution, recycling, horticulture and wildlife. Traditional ecological knowledge will be incorporated to demonstrate how Chickasaw people are connected to nature and the responsibility to preserve resources. Cultural components include participating in stomp dances, learning Chickasaw stories, language and exploring traditional concepts.
