2022 Primary Election Schedule

All times are Central Time.

June 6-8:
Candidate filing period (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) at the election secretary’s office.

June 10:
Challenge to candidacy ends at 5 p.m.

June 13:
Drawing for position on the ballot (1:30 p.m. at Chickasaw Community Center Ada).
Candidates may pick up printouts & USB flash drive.

June 13:
Last day to submit photo & biography to “Chickasaw Times” (by 4 p.m.)
Press release for candidates (news/media).

June 23:
Ballots mailed to voters who reside out of the contiguous 48 states

July 5:
Voter registration closes 12 p.m. NOON

July 6:
After noon candidates may pick up updated printouts & USB flash drive.

July 7:
Ballots mailed to ALL qualified voters.

July 21:
Last day to appoint a watcher.

July 26:
2022 primary election (last day to return ballots; no later than 10:30 a.m.)
Ballot tabulation begins at 11 a.m.
Unofficial results posted immediately.
Press release made to public.

July 26:
Voter registration re-opens, if no run-off election.

July 29:
Recount period ends.

October 3:
Oath of office ceremony (11 a.m.).

August 2:
Candidates may pick up printouts & USB flash drive (after noon).

August 11:
Ballots mailed to ALL qualified voters.

August 25:
Last day to appoint a watcher for the run-off election.

August 30:
2022 Run-off election (last day to return ballots; no later than 10:30 a.m.)
Ballot tabulation begins at 11 a.m.
Unofficial results posted immediately.
Press Release made to public.

August 30:
Voter registration re-opens.

September 2:
