Elderly Energy Assistance

Program Overview

Eligible Chickasaw elders can receive assistance for utility services such as gas, water, electricity or propane and utility deposits.

Who Can Apply

  • Chickasaw citizens

60 years of age or older (under age 60 see Emergency Energy Assistance Program)

Application Dates

  • May 1-Sept. 30 for summer cooling
  • Oct. 1-April 30 for winter heating

  • Completed application
  • Address verification
  • Most current utility bill with a balance for verification

Program Details

Chickasaw elders who are not covered by other services and have no other way of obtaining needed resources can receive a one-time assistance from Oct. 1 - April 30 for winter heating and one-time assistance for summer cooling from May 1 - Sept. 30.

This program assists income-eligible Chickasaw citizens with home repairs. The assistance is a grant up to $7,500 paid directly to citizen and contractor for the repair of a citizen’s home. Applicants must be a Chickasaw citizen and meet income eligibility requirements. The home must be their primary residence.

This program provides firewood for eligible Chickasaw elders who use a fireplace or wood stove to heat their home. Participants receive one rick of wood per month during winter months (November-March), as needed. Applicants must be a Chickasaw citizen who is 60 years of age or older and resides within the Chickasaw Nation.
