Program Overview

Chickasaw youth can participate in leadership, business and cultural development courses, a variety of community service opportunities and hands-on experience in professional environments.

Who Can Apply

  • Chickasaw citizens
  • Ages 14-18
  • 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale

Program Details

During monthly meetings, members can take part in hands-on experiences to refine their knowledge of Chickasaw culture, learn about other First American cultures and develop skills to grow into confident, resourceful young adults.

Chikasha Pehlichi Ikbi will provide personal development courses, like financial literacy and public speaking, to prepare members for college, careers and life beyond high school.

Members can travel for retreats, conferences, campus tours and other special student events throughout the region. They will also be responsible for organizing and participating in community outreach opportunities focused on servant leadership.

On call to provide information, navigation and urgent after-hours help 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays.
Chickasaw Nation Residents
Workforce training and experience prepares students to enter the workforce. Skill development includes job shadowing, mentoring, leadership opportunities, job training, life skills education and Chickasaw Nation curriculum. Applicants must be a citizen of a federally recognized tribe, with Chickasaw preference, ages 14-21. Additional eligibility requirements apply.
