The McSwain Theatre will continue its monthly Thursday movie showcase throughout March, featuring a mix of classic films and family-friendly favorites. Movies will be screened every Thursday, with showtimes at 2 and 7 p.m.
Tickets for the movie showcase are $3 for general admission, $2 for seniors and $2 for children ages 12 and under. A $5 combo deal is also available and includes a movie ticket, popcorn and a drink.
The March lineup includes:
March 5 — “A League of Their Own” (1992)
As World War II drains America of its male athletes, a professional all-female baseball league emerges. Competing at the highest level, the women prove their talent and determination while breaking barriers on and off the field.
March 12 — “Te Ata” (2016)
Mary Thompson “Te Ata” Fisher, a Chickasaw woman raised in Indian Territory, overcomes cultural barriers to become one of the most celebrated First American performers of her time. As her fame grows, she navigates discovery, love and a stage career that includes performances for European royalty, a U.S. president and audiences around the world, ultimately realizing there is no greater story more inspiring than her own.
March 19 — “That Darn Cat” (1997)
A mischievous house cat becomes an unlikely crime solver after helping lead the FBI to clues in a kidnapping case. What follows is a lighthearted mystery filled with small-town charm and feline mischief.
March 26 — “Winchester ‘73” (1950)
A prized rifle becomes the center of a fierce rivalry as it passes through the hands of outlaws, soldiers and settlers in the Old West. The weapon’s journey weaves together ambition, revenge and frontier justice.
In addition to the movie showcase, the McSwain Theatre will host a live music event featuring Jae L. & Crossover 7 p.m. Saturday, March 21. The group will perform classic country and gospel favorites. Special guest performers include Chandler Elliott, Debbie Allen, Peri Patterson, Hadley Banks and Lizzie Jones of Ada, Oklahoma; Braxton Cornelius and Kaitlyn Heartsill of Atoka, Oklahoma; Tanner Young of Colbert, Oklahoma; Tara Scott, Ava Scott and Jacob Conn of Duncan, Oklahoma; Cathy Lake of Noble, Oklahoma; Jeannie Troxel of Purcell, Oklahoma; and David Edwards of Atlanta, Texas.
Concert tickets are $15 for regular admission, $13 for seniors and $10 for children. Special rates are available for groups of 15 or more. Tickets for all events are on sale now.
