The McSwain Theatre will continue its monthly Thursday movie showcase throughout February, featuring a mix of classic films and family-friendly favorites. Movies will be screened every Thursday, with showtimes at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets for the movie showcase are $3 for general admission, $2 for seniors and $2 for children ages 12 and under. A $5 combo deal is also available and includes a movie ticket, popcorn and a drink.
The February lineup includes:
Feb. 5 — The Glenn Miller Story (1954)
Skilled trombonist Glenn Miller leaves his small-town roots behind for the bright lights of New York. At the height of his career, he enlists in the Army and mysteriously vanishes over the English Channel, leaving behind a musical legacy that continues to inspire generations.
Feb. 12 — Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)
An elegant socialite drifts between glamorous parties and visits to Sing Sing Correctional Facility while forming an unexpected bond with a struggling writer who moves into her apartment building. As their lives intertwine, both are forced to confront their fears, desires and the search for belonging.
Feb. 19 — Hachi: A Dog’s Tale (2009)
A music professor takes in a lost Akita puppy he names Hachi, forming a deeply loyal bond. Each day, Hachi waits at the train station for the professor’s return. After tragedy strikes, Hachi continues his faithful vigil for the rest of his life.
Feb. 26 — Friendly Persuasion (1956)
A Quaker family in Indiana faces moral and personal challenges as the Civil War threatens their pacifist way of life. Each family member must navigate the tension between faith and the realities of war while protecting their home and community.
In addition to the movie showcase, the McSwain Theatre will host a live music event featuring Jae L. & Crossover 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. The group will perform classic country and gospel favorites. Special guest performers include Chandler Elliott, Debbie Allen, Harper Miller, Haley Eaton, Libby Thomas, Cedar Thomas and Brittany Young of Ada, Oklahoma; Tara Scott of Duncan, Oklahoma; John Williams of Maysville, Oklahoma; and Michael Webb of Lawton, Oklahoma.
Concert tickets are $15 for regular admission, $13 for seniors and $10 for children. Special rates are available for groups of 15 or more. Tickets for all events are on sale now.
