ADA, Okla. The McSwain Theatre will host its Thursday movie showcase throughout June, featuring classic and family-friendly films with showtimes at 2 and 7 p.m. each Thursday.

Tickets for the movie showcase are $3 for general admission, $2 for seniors and $2 for children ages 12 and under. A $5 combo deal is also available and includes a movie ticket, popcorn and a drink.

The Children’s Summer Movie Series will return June 2 featuring timeless and funny films every Tuesday and Wednesday with showtimes at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. until July 29. Tickets are $1 or $5 for a combo deal.

June 4

The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964) G

A bookkeeper dreams of becoming a fish and magically gets his wish during World War II. He uses his new aquatic talents to help the Navy track U-boats, becoming a war hero.

June 11

Annie (1982) PG

A young orphan girl has lived a hard life in an unhappy orphanage run by the harsh Miss Hannagan. When given the opportunity to stay with an eccentric billionaire, she realizes she has found a home despite the obstacles thrown in her path.

June 18

The Iron Mistress (1952) TV-PG

A frontiersman moves to New Orleans to make a life for himself, where he earns recognition for crafting a distinctive knife. As his reputation grows, he becomes entangled in romance, rivalry and the turmoil of frontier life.

June 25

A Little Princess (1955) G

A young girl is sent to a strict boarding school while her father goes off to war, where she endures hardship after he is presumed dead. Despite everything, she clings to her imagination and brings light to those around her.

Attempting to return to New York City, the zoo animals crash in Africa where Alex the lion is reunited with his parents, and the gang must face hard lessons about identity, love and life.

The Sword in the Stone (1963) G

Merlin tutors a young, orphaned boy named Wart, secretly training him for his fate to pull a magical sword out of stone and fulfill his destiny of becoming the legend, King Arthur.

June 23-24

Encanto (2021) PG

Mirabel is the only one in her family without magical powers, yet she is the only one who can save her family’s powers and sentients from fading all the while healing emotional wounds and generational trauma.

June 30-July 1

Aladdin (1992) G

A kindhearted thief enters a whole new world as he encounters a genie who helps him swoon the princess, defeat an evil sorcerer and discover who he truly is.

July 7-8

The Wild Robot (2024) PG

A robot shipwrecked on an unhabitable island must adapt to her surroundings, eventually becoming the adopted mother to a gosling while learning the best lessons come from unexpected changes.

June 14-15

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) G

The young girl who answers to the fairest of them all finds refuge with seven coal miners, but she falls under a curse that can only be lifted by a true love’s kiss.

July 21-22

Abominable (2019) PG

Follow the journey of a young girl and her friends as they embark on a quest to reunite a yeti with his family in the Himalayas while trying to outrun a wealthy collector trying to capture the creature.

July 28-29

Inside Out (2015) PG

See what happens inside 11-year-old Riley’s mind as her emotions struggle to navigate her life as she moves across the country and learns important life lessons.

McSwain Theatre Showcase featuring Jae L. & Crossover

Join Jae L. & Crossover for a live music performance featuring classic country and gospel hits at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 20. Tickets are on sale now.

Guest performers will include Debbie Allen, Brynna Brashear Crow and Chandler Elliott of Ada, Oklahoma; Jaidyn Morehead of Antlers, Oklahoma; Nick Phillips of Bethany, Oklahoma; Tara Scott of Duncan, Oklahoma; David Edwards of Atlanta, Texas; Grayson and Hannah Honeycutt of Denison, Texas; Anne Young of Murphy, Texas; and Sherman Andrus of Lyndon, Washington.

Tickets for the concert are $15 for regular admission, $13 for seniors and $10 for children. Special rates are available for groups of 15 or more.

Upcoming Special Events

The McSwain Theatre, 130 W. Main St. will continue to have plenty of shows throughout the year.

Check out Travis LeDoyt at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, as well as Jordan Rainer at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. The McSwain will feature a tribute to George Jones and Tammy Wynette performed by Wayne and Alissa Brewer Saturday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. Tickets for these shows are on sale now.
