In episode 2 of “Chikasha Poya” co-hosts Quin Tran and Hunter Paul kick off a road trip along I-35 at the Chickasaw Welcome Center in Davis, Oklahoma, gathering everything they will need for a trip to Thackerville, Oklahoma, at the newly renovated WinStar Golf Club and Academy. Tran and Paul have a chance to play a round of golf on one of the pristine 18-hole courses and visit with Chickasaw golfers trying out the course.

After a lunch break at the WinStar Edgewater Grill and a golf lesson, the hosts interview Chickasaw teen golfer Drake Kanuch, who just won his first overseas tournament in Scotland.

After exploring the world of golf, the duo head to the Chickasaw Cultural Center to join in the Ayowaꞌ Garden to Gourmet agritour, where visitors are guided through native gardens and are invited to harvest plants. Then, participants are taught how to create a healthy and nutritious meal with ingredients found in the gardens.

After the agritour, Tran and Paul head north on I-35 as they visit Riverwind Casino in Norman, Oklahoma, for Beats & Bites — an outdoor festival in its 10th year. They are treated to an experience of live music and food trucks in a family-friendly and affordable environment.

The inaugural episode of “Chikasha Poya” aired in July and takes viewers on an exploration of Oklahoma City’s Horizons District. The entire episode can be viewed online at Chickasaw.net/ChikashaPoya.
