Improvements

The enhancements to tribal services outlined below were developed from citizen feedback and will have positive impacts in the lives of Chickasaw citizens and their families across the country.

We have doubled the funding from $2,500 to $5,000 to better help families honor their loved ones.

Chickasaw Alumni Association
Chickasaw Alumni Association

This program is designed to foster enduring connections and promote networking, mentorship and resource sharing.

Higher Education Grants, Scholarships and Incentives
Digital Learning Grant

This new grant equips Chickasaw students to purchase needed technology in the evolving digital classroom setting.

1. Includes career technology program students
2. $800 prepaid Visa card or $800 reimbursement for digital learning materials or technology once during their postsecondary education career.

Assisted Living Benefit Program
Assisted Living Benefit Program

The monthly benefit has increased from $2,500 to $3,500 to care for our Chickasaw elders in assisted living facilities.

Elders Clothing Grant
Elders Clothing Grant

A new $250 annual clothing grant is available to all Chickasaw elders.

Eyeglasses and Contacts Program
Eyeglasses and Contacts Program

We have increased funding from $200 to $300 for every citizen to purchase contact lenses or glasses.

Outpatient Services
Outpatient Services

We are committed to holistic care for our citizens no matter where they live. Citizens at-large can access referrals and supplemental funding to access quality mental health care.

Down Payment and/or Closing Cost Assistance Grant
Down Payment and/or Closing Cost Assistance Grant

We have increased assistance from $3,000 to $5,000 to help citizens refinance their primary residence or achieve the dream of homeownership.

Handicapped Accessibility Grant
Handicapped Accessibility Grant

We have increased assistance from $5,000 to $7,500 to help citizens make the essential modification needed to live comfortably in their homes.

Expanded eligibility requirements:
1. Increased to 100% National Median Income
2. Reapply every 3 years

Homeowner Preparedness Grant
Homeowner Preparedness Grant

We have expanded the storm shelter program to help citizens prepare for emergencies and natural disasters. The funding amount has also increased from $3,500 to $5,000.

Eligible Items:
Storm shelters | Storm shutters | Generators | Sand bags | Pier Wrapping
*Other storm-related items will be considered case by case

In FY 25, all applicants who were on the waiting list before Jan. 2025 will receive funding.

Citizens can reapply every 15 years, Elders over age 60 can reapply after 5 years for a new shelter if health or circumstances have changed.
