Out of an abundance of caution and to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, certain Chickasaw Nation events, classes, facilities, etc., will be postponed, canceled or closed. This program allows units to be leased in the private sector by low income Native Americans.
Required forms are available at the Housing Administration office. A background check on all family members 18 years of age or older is required.
An applicant can expect to find out within 10 business days of completing an application if he/she qualifies and will be placed on a waiting list. This program is restricted to the 12-county service area: southern portion of Bryan, Carter, Garvin, Grady, Jefferson, Johnston, Love, McClain, Marshall, Murray, Pontotoc and Stephens counties.
The "98" Rental Program is operated in accordance with the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA) and allows for units to be leased and subsidized in the private sector.
