This program helps increase the employability of First Americans within the Chickasaw Nation and provides special services to enable First American families to become productive in the workforce.

Participants must reside within the Chickasaw Nation and meet program requirements.

  • Social Security card
  • Proof of residency
  • Proof of income or signed Non-Income Statement (available at all area offices)
  • Driver’s license or photo identification
  • Letter of acknowledgement from Selective Service or signed request form to receive number from Selective Service office (male applicants only)
  • High school diploma, GED certificate or school transcript

Program Details

The area offices of the social services division use a single intake, assessment and development of an individual employability plan. Each adult or youth served must meet the requirement of being an enrolled citizen of the Chickasaw Nation or a member of another federally recognized tribe.

The goals are to:

  • Increase the employability of Native American people within the Chickasaw Nation's service area
  • Provide special services to enable Native American families to become productive in the workforce

The main components of these services are youth leadership services, educational/vocational classroom training services, occupational/employment services and general assistance, and other supportive services.

This program invests case management, counseling and life skills training to increase clients’ ability to reach their potential while decreasing dependence on financial assistance. Required applications are available at any area office.

Job readiness, work experience, on-the-job training and supportive services are provided for clients who are eligible. This component goal is to empower clients to obtain employment with career potential. Contact your local area office for more information.
