Driver Education Training Program

The program offers driver education, training and examinations to eligible Chickasaw citizens, equipping them with the necessary skills to obtain an Oklahoma driver's license.

Applicant must be a Chickasaw citizen who is at least 15 years of age. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.

Program Details

Providing independence with access to transportation improves employment opportunities. The Chickasaw Employment Access (CEA) Program offers driver education, training and examinations to eligible Chickasaw citizens, equipping them with the necessary skills to obtain an Oklahoma driver's license.

DRIVER EDUCATION CLASSES

ELIGIBILITY:

Must be a Chickasaw citizen
Toksali SMART program participants have priority
Must be referred from a CEA program
At least 15 years of age prior to start of class
Required to attend all classroom instruction sessions to be eligible to receive completion certificate

Classes provide skills and knowledge necessary to obtain an Oklahoma driver’s permit.

Participants are required to complete 10 hours of classroom instruction, and six hours of behind-the-wheel road skills instruction. Once all course requirements are met, participants will receive a certificate of completion.

Certified copy of state-issued birth certificate
Social Security card

DRIVER EXAMINATION

ELIGIBILITY:

Must be a Chickasaw citizen
Be at least 16 years of age
Must have possessed a learner’s permit for at least six months (if under 18)
Submit a complete online application
Driver’s education completion certificate (if applicable)
- Copy of learner’s permit

DRIVER EXAMINATION PROCEDURE:

All applicants must submit an application online. Driver examinations are available to all eligible Chickasaw citizens and will be administered in Ada, Oklahoma.

Driving exam participants will receive a pre-test prior to examination to demonstrate proficient driving skills that include, but are not limited to:

Right and left turns
Right and left lane changes
Hill parking
Parallel parking

Upon successful completion of the pre-test, a driving examination will be scheduled.

A driver education training program vehicle will be utilized for all driver examinations.
