Assistance with driver education, training and examinations are available to equip eligible Chickasaw citizens with the necessary skills to obtain an Oklahoma driver's license or farm driver’s permit.

Applicant must be a Chickasaw citizen who is at least 15 years of age for a state license or 13½ for a farm permit. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.

Program Details

The Chickasaw Employment Access (CEA) Program offers driver education, training and examinations to eligible Chickasaw citizens, equipping them with the necessary skills to obtain an Oklahoma driver's license. Access to transportation independence improves employment opportunities.

Ada and Ardmore Area

DRIVER EDUCATION CLASSES

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Must be a Chickasaw citizen
  • At least 15 years of age prior to start of class
  • Required to attend all classroom instruction sessions to be eligible to receive completion certificate

Participants are required to complete 10 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel road skills instruction. Once all course requirements are met, participants will receive a certificate of completion.

YOU PROVIDE:

  • Copy of state-issued birth certificate
  • Social Security card

DRIVER EXAMINATION

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Must be a Chickasaw citizen
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Must have possessed a learner’s permit for at least six months (if under 18)
  • Submit a complete online application
  • Driver’s education completion certificate (if applicable)
    • Copy of learner’s permit

DRIVER EXAMINATION PROCEDURE:

Driving exam participants will receive a pre-test before examination, and program vehicles will be utilized for all driving examinations.

FARM PERMIT DRIVER EDUCATION

Provides applicants with driver’s education training in the process of obtaining a farm permit.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Must be a Chickasaw citizen
  • At least 13½ years of age
  • Required to attend all classroom instruction sessions to be eligible to receive completion certificate

FARM PERMIT LICENSE EXAMINATION

Provides applicants with the opportunity to obtain a restricted Class D license.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Must be a Chickasaw citizen
  • At least 14 years of age

YOU PROVIDE:

  • Driver education completion certificate (if applicable)
  • Affidavit for farm driving permit from parent or employer

DRIVER EXAMINATION PROCEDURE:

Driver exam participants will receive a pretest prior to examination, and program vehicles will be utilized for all drive examinations.
