Head shot and resume workshops designed for actors, models, singers, dancers and technical support for all ages and levels of experience and are offered throughout the year. Professional head shots and resumes are a standard requirement for all film, commercial and modeling auditions, and are requested more and more when auditioning for plays.
The workshops take place in the black box theatre in the arts and humanities building at 201 N. Broadway, Ada, Oklahoma.
The head shot and resume workshop is divided into two parts: the first part is a time of information regarding resumes and how to ensure attendees have a professional one, even for those with little to no experience. Examples of resumes are given and the differences in types of head shots are discussed. Attendees also learn about the type of clothing and make-up needed that best compliments the individual. Questions are encouraged from attendees.
Parents/guardians are required to attend the information session with minors. At the end of the session, participants will select a time slot for the following Saturday to have their professional theatrical and commercial head shots taken.
The second part consists of having the actual headshots taken. A professional photographer is brought in to take the photos. Attendees are given a printed theatrical and commercial headshot.
Attendees are asked to bring a new thumb-drive so all their photos can be downloaded. Certificates are awarded at the end of the workshop.
Copies of the photos and resumes are placed on file in the performing arts department of the division of arts and humanities for use in casting calls. Notification is made to the individual/parent before releasing information to any casting crew and/or agent – especially is the person is a minor. Once a workshop fills, a wait list is started for future workshops.
Fees for non-Chickasaws are $40.
Instructor(s) for the workshop are degreed and/or certified with several years’ experience.
