Dynamic Woman of the Year Award

The Chickasaw Nation Dynamic Woman of the Year Award pays tribute to a Chickasaw woman who has inspired, given hope or opened new possibilities or opportunities for others through her example.

Honorees must be a Chickasaw woman 35 years and older to be eligible to receive the award. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.

Eligibility

Chickasaw women 35 years and older
Eligible women shall include but are not limited to the following:
Pioneers in their fields or in a project that benefits the Chickasaw Nation and its citizens
Women who have distinguished themselves in a professional field including, but not limited to, education, health care, law, history, cultural advocacy and preservation, language preservation and revitalization, government, civic leadership, aviation and space, business, technology, journalism, banking and finance, children’s issues, social services, arts and entertainment
Women who, have sustained Chickasaw traditions and culture in the family and the community, perpetuating the Chickasaw spirit
Women who have championed other women, women’s issues or served as an advocate for issues important to women
Women who, through their lifestyles, exemplify the character, strength and values of the Chickasaw Nation and its people — honor, integrity, perseverance, visionary leadership and the commitment to family and community

Employees of the Chickasaw Nation and women currently serving as Chickasaw officials and/or in appointed positions of the tribal executive department are not eligible.

Chickasaw women who have made significant contributions to the Chickasaw Nation and its citizens, served as role models and who have made a difference by enriching their communities and society at large are honored at the annual Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation conference.

The Chickasaw Nation Dynamic Woman of the Year Award pays tribute to a Chickasaw woman who has inspired, given hope or, through her example, opened new possibilities or opportunities for others. It salutes the contributions she has made to improving and enhancing the lives of those around her, her professional accomplishments, her community involvement and dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of the Chickasaw Nation and its people.
