Program Details

Through the experience of theatrical production, participants develop an understanding of storytelling, empathy and the power of collaboration. Participants develop stage performance techniques and technical theater skills, build confidence and progress in teamwork, self-expression and creative initiative. Curriculum covers various aspects of theater:

  • Historical overview of theatrical tradition
  • Stage terminology
  • Pantomime
  • Correct breathing and vocal volume
  • Exploration of tone and emotions
  • Creating and executing scenes in groups with a script
  • Spatial awareness and body confidence
  • Dramatic and comedic timing
  • Theater etiquette and theatrical critique
  • Story structure

Separate classes are available for students ages 8-12, 13-15 and 16-18.
