Free, contactless tax filing services are available to qualifying individuals and families through the volunteer income tax assistance program. This program is free to filers earning less than $57,000 per year.

The 2021 VITA filing period begins Feb. 12.

The VITA program is assisting clients through a contactless filing process. To receive tax preparation assistance:

  1. Complete the online application and upload all necessary documents.
  2. A VITA team member will prepare the return
  3. Once complete, the VITA preparer will call or set up a Zoom meeting to review the return with the filer

VITA offices are currently closed to the public.

Before beginning the application, have the following documents ready to upload:

  • Two forms of ID (one must be a photo ID)
  • Social Security cards for the filer and all dependents
  • All W-2s, 1099s, etc. (any documents that pertain to completing your tax return)
  • Voided check for direct deposit of any refund you may receive
