Program Details

Located on the Chickasaw Capitol grounds in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, the Chickasaw Council House Museum preserves and displays the original 1855 log cabin that was the first Chickasaw council house built in Indian Territory, and where the 1856 Chickasaw Constitution was signed. The museum also displays artifacts tracing the history and culture of the Chickasaw people and contemporary Chickasaw artwork.

The museum gift shop offers a variety of souvenirs, books, music, and Chickasaw language materials, as well as pottery, jewelry, beadwork and other artwork by Chickasaw artists.

Group tours are available by reservation and are limited to 14 people per tour. To reserve a group tour, please call (580) 371-3351.

Open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Closed on federal holidays
