The “37” Rental Program provides rental assistance to income-eligible families. The “37” rental units are available in designated locations within tribal territory.

Applicants must be First American and meet income requirements. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.

Eligibility
  • First American preference
  • Low income (80% or lower U.S. Median Income)
  • No outstanding debt owed to the housing division or to the Chickasaw Nation
  • No engagement in drug-related criminal activity
  • Non-First American families can be housed only after First American needs are met
  • $20,000 asset limitation

Program Details

This program provides rental assistance to low income families. The program exercises First American preference.

Required forms are available at the Housing Administration office. A background check on all family members 18 years of age or older is required.

An applicant can expect to find out within 21 business days of completing an application if he or she qualifies and will be placed on a waiting list. The “37” rental units are available in designated locations within the service area.

This program operates in accordance with the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA) and current policies and procedures to ensure that our rental units remain as current assisted stock and affordable.
