The Chickasaw Tribal Library is a community-based, family library that offers different programs for people of all ages. It is a circulating library with a collection of books that includes fiction, periodicals, children’s books, biographies, histories, newspapers, magazines and general reference. The library also offers DVD and videotapes that cover topics ranging from documentaries to current popular movies.
For research, the library has both a genealogist and a cultural research specialist on staff for those wishing to research the Dawes Rolls or general Chickasaw history and culture. Research requests are open to both internal and external entities. The library is home to the Chickasaw Historical Society and currently has both old and new volumes of The Journal of Chickasaw History and Culture available for purchase.
Craft classes are available year-round for both adults and children. Classes are offered once a month, and the sessions alternate between adults and children every other month. Craft classes for children include story time, and both age groups learn various creative techniques that can be both educational and fun.
