  • In the children’s television show “LazyTown,” Stephanie inspires citizens of LazyTown to stay active. Stephanie will also help local children stay active during the April 28 Southeastern Oklahoma Heart Walk at Central Park in Ardmore.

ARDMORE, Okla. -- The American Heart Association will host the 2018 Southeastern Oklahoma Heart Walk Saturday, April 28, at Central Park, 14 E St. SW. All ages and fitness levels can participate in this non-competitive community event. Pets are welcome.

The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's premier event for raising funds to save lives from heart disease and stroke.

Opening ceremony will be 9 a.m. and include a warm up and survivor rally.

“Rock the Walk,” this year’s themed walk, will begin 9:30 a.m. with a choice between the 3-mile route or the 1-mile “Miracle Mile” route. Along the way, attendees will have access to live music, hydration stations and healthy selfie stops.

Plenty of other family-friendly activities will be offered prior to the walk.

The 8 a.m. Heart Walk Expo will include health screenings, family entertainment, refreshments, activities for children and more.

Stephanie, the adventurous young girl from the Nickelodeon television show “LazyTown,” will lead the 8:30 a.m. Kids Heart Challenge Obstacle Course. This is an obstacle course for children ages 5-12.

In association with the American Heart Association, the Chickasaw Nation, Mercy Hospital of Ardmore and Valero Ardmore Refinery are co-sponsoring the event.
