The McSwain Theatre will host its monthly Thursday Movie Showcase throughout January, featuring classic and family-friendly films with showtimes at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. each Thursday.

Tickets for the movie showcase are $3 for general admission, $2 for seniors, and $2 for children ages 12 and under. A $5 combo deal is also available and includes a movie ticket, popcorn and a drink.

The January lineup includes:

Jan. 8 – Blue Hawaii (1961)

After being discharged from the Army, Chad Gates returns home to Hawaii, where his father expects him to join the family business. Instead, Chad chooses a laid-back life as a tour guide for his girlfriend’s travel agency, navigating family expectations, romance and self-discovery along the way.

Jan. 15 – Eight Below (2006)

Sled dog trainer Jerry Shepherd is forced to evacuate Antarctica during a fierce storm, leaving his team of dogs behind. The dogs must survive six months in the frozen wilderness while Jerry searches for a way to return and rescue them.

Jan. 22 – Sister Act (1992)

After witnessing a murder, Reno lounge singer Deloris is placed in witness protection at a convent. Disguised as Sister Mary Clarence, she transforms the struggling choir and helps the nuns find their voices, all while trying to stay one step ahead of danger.

Jan. 29 – Cimarron (1960)

Set during the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889, the film follows Yancey Cravat and his wife, Sabra, as they build a life on the frontier. Together they establish the Oklahoma Wigwam newspaper and face the hardships, politics and personal struggles of a growing territory.

In addition to the movie showcase, the McSwain Theatre will present a live music event featuring Jae L. & Crossover 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17. The group will perform classic country and gospel favorites. Special guest performers include Chandler Elliott and Debbie Allen of Ada, Oklahoma; Tara Scott and Ava Scott of Duncan, Oklahoma; Glenn Sulley and Jillian Sulley of Oklahoma City; Blair Kudelka of Hallettsville, Texas; Anne Young of Murphy, Texas; and Luke Moody of San Augustine, Texas.

Tickets for the concert are $15 for regular admission, $13 for seniors and $10 for children. Special rates are available for groups of 15 or more. Tickets for all events are on sale now.
