May ushers in a variety of classes for arts and crafts lovers. This spring, the Chickasaw Nation has several classes for artists of all skill levels.

See below for a full list of art classes happening in May:

May 8 – Watercolor Workshop with Mary Ruth Barnes

1-3:30 p.m. at the ARTesian Gallery & Studios 1001 W. Muskogee St., Sulphur

Enrollment fee of $10 per class includes all supplies and instruction. Class fee is waived for Chickasaw citizens. For more information, call (580) 622-8040.

May 15–17 – Book Page Crafts with Leanne Parker-West

2-4 p.m. at the ARTesian Gallery & Studios 1001 W. Muskogee St., Sulphur

Classes are open to the public at a $10 cost per person for supplies. Class fee is waived for Chickasaw citizens. Class size is limited. For more information, or to enroll, call (580) 622-8040.

May 22-24 – Acrylic Painting with Leanne Parker-West

2-4 p.m. at the ARTesian Gallery & Studios 1001 W. Muskogee St., Sulphur

May 29-31 – Pastels with Leanne Parker-West

2-4 p.m. at the ARTesian Gallery & Studios, 1001 W. Muskogee St., Sulphur

May 18 – Pine Needle Basket Class

1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Chickasaw Council House Museum, 209 N. Fisher St., Tishomingo

Pine needle basket class that is open to the public at no charge. Supplies will be provided and class size is limited. For more information, call (580) 371-3351.

April 15-May 22 – Raku

6-8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the arts and humanities ceramics studio, 201 N. Broadway Ave., Ada

This class is open to the public and is $25 to cover materials. This fee is waived for Chickasaw citizens. Class size is limited. To enroll, or for more information, contact arts and humanities at (580) 272-5520.

May 25 – Medicine Bags Class

10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Saturday, Fort Washita, 3348 State Highway 199, Durant

This class is open to the public at no cost. Supplies will be provided.
