Celebrate the changing of the seasons and cooler weather at the McSwain Theatre in downtown Ada Saturday, Sept. 20 with the Jae L. and Crossover show. The curtain rises at 7 p.m.
A talented line up of special guests is slated for the show, including: Dale Rochell, Duncan, Oklahoma; Tishia Agee, Debbie Allen and Chandler Elliott, all of Ada, Oklahoma; Missy Rude and Wiley Winters of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Chasely Bratcher, Whitesboro, Texas; and Gary Owen, Sebastian, Florida.
“The September show will be fun, and it offers something for the entire family,” said the show’s host, Jae L. Stilwell. “We will host artists of all ages at the show. Chasely Bratcher is a 7-year-old who recently performed at a Texas Country Music Hall of Fame showcase and stole the show. She will be making her debut at the McSwain, and we are excited for her performance.”
Owens, a longtime performer at the McSwain Theatre, is a ventriloquist and singer. He will be accompanied by his character, Rhapsody Cowboy, who will perform a few song parodies and interact with the audience.
Guests can expect an entertaining evening full of gospel and classic country performances, including Rochell singing Joe Diffie’s “Pickup Man,” Agee belting out the Ray Price hit “One More Time,” as well as Kenny Rogers’ and Dolly Parton’s “Islands in the Stream” sung by brother-and-sister duo Winters and Rude, Stilwell said.
Sharing the uplifting feeling of walking on the historic McSwain stage is something Stilwell says she is blessed to do. “I know how the guests feel, getting to walk on that stage. When the lights come on and the band is playing, and the audience is clapping, that experience is like none other. It does not matter your age. You feel humble and special at that moment. That is the most awesome feeling,” she said.
