ATOKA, Okla. -- The Chickasaw Nation will offer an outdoor movie experience with the children’s film “The Wild Life,” 8:30 p.m., Friday, May 26, at the Boggy Depot ballpark, 475 S. Park Lane.

The event is open to the public at no charge and popcorn, soft drinks and water will be served. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

In the movie, “The Wild Life,” Robinson Crusoe is stranded on a tropical island where he makes friends with a group of animals including a parrot, chameleon and porcupine.

Robinson Crusoe is a fictional character from the 1719 Daniel Defoe novel named after the character. The novel, which inspired the animated film “The Wild Life,” presented Crusoe as a real person writing an autobiography in which he is a castaway spending twenty-eight years on a remote tropical desert island.

To get to the ballpark, take State Highway 7 east of Wapanucka, turn south on Park Lane and travel four miles.
