The Chickasaw Nation will host rabies clinics through the summer at several Chickasaw Nation facilities in Chickasaw Country.

Oklahoma state law requires that all dogs, cats and ferrets be immunized against rabies by or under the supervision of a veterinarian by the age of four months and at regular intervals thereafter.

Although rabies symptoms can vary, it is important to be suspicious of animals that demonstrate a lack of fear of people, are listless, confused or less active than normally expected, have difficulty moving, appear paralyzed, or have unusual or inappropriate aggression without being provoked.

Clinics are set up as drive-thrus and first come, first served.

Owners must have a CDIB or tribal citizenship card, and animals must belong to the owner.

Clinics will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. Following are dates and locations of upcoming rabies clinics:

  • May 13 –The Chickasaw Nation Ardmore Area Office, 949 Locust St., Ardmore, Oklahoma
  • May 13 – The Chickasaw Nation Madill Senior Center, 15252 Nevins Ave., Madill, Oklahoma
  • May 18 – The Chickasaw Nation Duncan Area Office, 1819 W. Plato Road, Duncan, Oklahoma
  • May 19 – The Chickasaw Nation Property and Landscaping Building, 529 S. Latta Road, Ada, Oklahoma
  • May 20 – The Chickasaw Nation Enos Community Center, 1400 Enos Road, Kingston, Oklahoma
  • May 25 – Murray Co. Expo Center, 4000 W. Highway 7, Sulphur, Oklahoma
  • May 25 – The Chickasaw Nation Pauls Valley Area Office, 20118 S. Indian Meridian Road, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma
  • May 27 –The Chickasaw Nation Ardmore Area Office, 949 Locust St., Ardmore, Oklahoma
  • May 27 – The Chickasaw Nation Panola Senior Center, 1015 Moore Ave., Colbert, Oklahoma
  • June 8 – The Chickasaw Nation Nutrition Services Bldg. (east side, back of bldg.), 1530 Hardcastle Blvd., Purcell, Oklahoma
  • June 29 – The Chickasaw Nation Nutrition Services Bldg. (east side, back of bldg.),
