ADA, Okla. – The Chickasaw Nation Science, Technology and Math (STEM) Academy robotics teams are accepting applications.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Jr. FIRST LEGO League, open to Chickasaw youth ages six to eight, teaches the benefits of teamwork, sparks interest in science and technology and introduces basic design skills through a hands-on approach with the fun of LEGO building.

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), open to all students entering ninth to 12th grade, is designed for those who want to compete head-to-head, using a sports model. Teams of up to 10 students are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams.

Students are able to design, build and program robots, apply real-world math and science concepts, develop team-building skills and compete in tournaments.

Program activities will take place after school and on weekends at the Chickasaw Nation STEM Academy, 301 Seabrook Road. No experience is necessary, but space is limited.
