by Chickasaw Nation Media Relations Office

The Chickasaw Nation will host the Great American Smoke-Out 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center, Ada, and the health clinics in Ardmore, Tishomingo and Purcell.

Booths will be set up to provide information to encourage smokers to quit smoking or to make a plan to quit.

According to the American Cancer Society, within two to three weeks after quitting circulation improves and lung function increases.

Smokers who pledge to quit “cold turkey” will be entered into a drawing to win a frozen turkey.

The event is open to the public at no charge.
