The Chickasaw Nation is inviting comments regarding the special supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children (WIC). Input is needed for development of the state plan of operation for the 2023 fiscal year. These comments must be received by Aug. 10, 2022.

WIC is a federally funded nutrition education and supplemental food program. WIC is for pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to age 5, who are determined to be at nutritional risk and whose income falls below 185% of the poverty level. The Chickasaw Nation WIC program currently serves more than 4,000 women, infants and children.
