The Chickasaw Nation Behavioral Health Program is hosting a Substance Abuse Recovery Group 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.beginning Feb. 9 at Carl Albert Indian Health Facility in the Behavioral Health Clinic located at 1001 North Country Club Road in Ada, Okla.

The group is for people who have completed a residential alcohol or drug treatment program.

The group is designed to help participants maintain a sane, sober and responsible lifestyle. The recovery group will help attendees develop a positive attitude of motivation and self-actualization. Session will also focus on relapse prevention techniques. Participants will help design the format.

These meetings will not replace AA (Alcohol Anonymous) or NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meetings. The group is meant to supplement recovery.

Participants must be 18 or older, have a CDIB card or an established chart at Carl Albert Indian Health Facility, and show proof of completion from a residential treatment program.

Space is limited to 10 participants. Sessions will be every Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for 10 consecutive weeks.
