Press Release

Release Date: July 30, 2020

by Chickasaw Nation Media Relations Office

As a safety measure during the fight against the coronavirus, COVID-19, the Chickasaw Nation Head Start and Chickasaw Nation Preschool will implement distance and virtual instruction for the first nine weeks of the term. Instruction will begin Aug. 17, 2020, for all four centers in Ada, Ardmore, Sulphur and Tishomingo. In-person instruction will begin when the community spread of COVID-19 is low enough to ensure the safety of the children.

Decisions are based on protecting the health and well-being of our young children and the staff who teach and serve them.

The Chickasaw Nation will keep parents and the public informed as instruction plans are updated.

Enrollment applications will continue to be processed for the upcoming school year. Applications are available online at Chickasaw.net/HeadStart. Once completed, please mail your completed application to the location you wish your child to attend. If you have questions, please call your center.
