ADA, Okla. -- The Chickasaw Nation Election Commission announced results of a runoff election for Pickens District Seat 4, on September 19, 2006.

Incumbent Wanda Blackwood Tippit Scott received 967 votes (51.22 percent) to defeat Sue Simmons, who received 921 votes (48.78 percent).

Ms. Scott and primary election winners Holly Easterling, Dr. Judy Goforth Parker, David Woerz, D. Scott Colbert and Barbara Anne Smith will be sworn into office 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2006.

The oath of office will be administered in the conference room of the Chickasaw Nation Headquarters Building, 520 East Arlington Ada, Oklahoma.
