ADA, Okla. – The Chickasaw Nation will host the annual 72-Hour Photography Competition Sept. 6 through Sept. 9. The event encourages student, amateur and professional photographers to participate.

Photographers must register by Aug. 30 to be entered into the competition. A theme will be announced at 5 p.m., Sept. 6. Once the theme is announced, photographers will have 72 hours to submit their interpretation of the given theme.

Photographers may enter two photos. Digital editing technology, such as Photoshop, is not permitted.

The competition is open to the public. More than $1,900 in prize money will be awarded. There is a $30 application fee. Photos must be submitted to ArtistInfo@Chickasaw.net before 5 p.m., Sept. 9, to be eligible.

Winners will be announced Oct. 25 during an awards reception at Chokma'si Gallery, located at 201 N. Broadway Ave. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. and feature a gallery showcase of the competition entries.

Guidelines and prize information will be provided after registration.
