  • Cyclists begin the 2016 Pontotoc Pursuit. The 2017 Pontotoc Pursuit Bicycle Ride is set for Saturday, Sept. 30.

ADA, Okla. – Fall is in the air, chilly autumn mornings have arrived and soon leaves will change from vibrant green to warm tones of red, orange and yellow. Get into the spirit of the changing season by participating in the Pontotoc Pursuit Bicycle Ride, Saturday, Sept. 30.

Held in conjunction with the 2017 Chickasaw Nation Annual Meeting and Festival, the Pontotoc Pursuit will begin at 9 a.m. at Wintersmith Park, 1700 Wintersmith Drive.

Four different routes will take cyclists through the countryside, including an 8-mile, 30-mile, 44-mile and 77-mile trek.

Individual pre-registration is $25 until Sept. 29. On-site registration fees are $35 for individuals and $50 for families. The first 100 registrants will receive a complimentary T-shirt. All participants will be eligible for prize drawings.

All riders are required to sign in at the registration table on the day of the event to ensure accurate route counts. Registration will be before the ride from 8 a.m. - 8:40 a.m.

Participation medals will be awarded as cyclists cross the finish line.

The Kiwanis children’s rides and mini golf will be open to the public at no charge from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
