by Chickasaw Nation Media Relations Office

The Chickasaw Nation will host the Ada Area Hiring Event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19, at  Pontotoc County Agri-Plex, 1700 N. Broadway, Ada, Oklahoma.

“There will be nearly 80 vendors, including many from the Ada area and Chickasaw Nation,” Chickasaw Nation Career Advocacy Manager Brett Lamb said. “Recruiters would like for job seekers to come prepared with their resumes, contact information, valid identification cards and a list of credentials, if applicable.”

Chickasaw Nation job-related programs and human resources recruiters will be conducting interviews and hiring on-site for career opportunities. The hiring event will also include several area organizations and businesses in Pontotoc County and surrounding areas.

“Come prepared with a winning attitude, your resume and practice some general interview questions, such as ‘Tell us about yourself,’ ‘What are some of your strengths?’ and ‘Give us a time you went above and beyond,’”  Lamb said.

“There will be a booth available for job seekers that will have information on all the companies represented at the event. If a person is looking for a specific job type, we will be able to show them which vendors meet their interests,” he said.

Employers will be looking for workers with varying experience in a wide variety of fields. These fields include positions in communications, health care, finance, retail, transportation, customer service, distribution, mechanical, food services, construction, manufacturing, education, industrial maintenance and more.

This event is open to the public at no charge.
