Chickasaw Nation Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place on August 13, 2009 at Riverwind Casino in Goldsby. The 2009 inductees were Overton "Sobe" Love, Tessie "Lushanya" Mobley, Daniel Worcester, and Lisa Johnson-Billy.

Tanumpo Hosa Apisa Clinics (shooting clinic)

Shooting Camp held in Ada and Kingston August 5th through the 7th.  Kids learned how to shoot and the safety procedures required for the operation of firearms. Ada camp was held at the Lighthorse Police Dept.

Summer Arts Academy

The Chickasaw Summer Arts Academy was held at the East Central University Performing Arts Center in Ada.

Softball Camp

Softball camp for beginner, intermediate and advanced players was held at Latta High School Softball Field starting on July 21st and continued through July 22nd. 

Archery Clinic

The 2009 Archery Clinic was held July 7th and 8th at the Chickasaw Nation Gym for Chickasaw youth ages 13 through 18.

Youth Basketball Clinic

The 2009 Chickasaw Nation Youth Basketball Clinic was held at the Family Life Center in Ada and at the Plainview High School for the Ardmore area on July 1st through July 2nd.

Lighthorse Police Youth Academy

Lighthorse Police Academy for Chickasaw teenagers was held June 29th through July 2nd at the Lighthorse Police Headquarters in Ada.

Youth Tennis Clinic - Beginners

Several Chickasaw youth from around the area “held court” at the annual Chickasaw Nation Tennis Clinic, conducted in June at the Ada Tennis Center.
The students spent four days learning the game of tennis, or improving their skills and techniques.
Forty-two beginning tennis players attended tennis clinic June 15-18, marking the largest group ever for the annual Tennis Clinic

Kids Golf Day Tournament

Several families enjoyed a day of golfing during the inaugural Himita Tohli Ahtohne Sholi, a child play/guardian caddy golf tournament, Saturday, June 20 at Lakeview Golf Course in Ardmore.

The event drew 18 Native American players from around the area. Parents, grandparents, and older siblings braved the heat and caddied nine holes for the youngsters.

The players ranged in age from eight to 18 years old.

Trophies were awarded to the top three players in each category at the conclusion of the tournament.
