The Chickasaw Nation Winter Fruit and Vegetable Program is dedicated to supplying Chickasaw seniors with nutritious fruits and vegetables during the winter months. This service fills the gap between growing seasons in the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program.
In addition to Chickasaw seniors (ages 55 and older), Chickasaw Warrior Society members and Chickasaw citizens with 100% disability are eligible to join. Participants will receive fresh, frozen and shelf-stable fruits and vegetables through March.
Anyone who received the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition summer electronic benefit transaction (EBT) card will not need to reapply to receive these benefits. Participants may pick up their fruits and vegetables from any of the five nutrition centers located in Ada, Ardmore, Duncan, Purcell and Tishomingo.
Apply for the Winter Fruit and Vegetable program by Feb. 28, 2025, at ChickasawNationHealth.net/FarmersMarket or call (580) 436-7255. A toll-free number is also available at (855) 572-3433.
