Learn What It Takes to Become a Chickasaw Princess

The Chickasaw Princesses serve as ambassadors of the Chickasaw Nation and advocate for their community and tribe during their reign, exemplifying servant leadership.

On March 29, the Chickasaw Nation is hosting a Princess in Training event 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Ardmore Chickasaw Nation Community Center.

Young Chickasaw women ages 7-25 can discover what it takes to be a Chickasaw Princess at this special training event. They will review the application details and necessary documents, learn about traditional dress, discuss pageant tips and tricks, have language lessons and practice interview skills.

The Chickasaw Nation Princess Pageant crowns the year’s royalty each fall during the Chickasaw Annual Meeting and Festival.

Age requirements:
•           17-25 for Chickasaw Princess
•           12-16 for Chickasaw Junior Princess
•           7-11 for Little Miss Chickasaw

Each applicant must be a registered citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and at least one-quarter Chickasaw. They must live within the Chickasaw Nation and be currently enrolled in a recognized educational institution or employed in a professional capacity. Additional eligibility requirements apply.
