Program Overview

This program is available to part-time and full-time Chickasaw students attending a state or nationally accredited career technology center, trade school or private licensed training facility, whereby graduating students receive a professional certification or license upon completion of their program.

In addition to certification programs, funding may be considered on a case-by-case basis for advanced or graduate certifications at colleges and universities, bridge programs, continuing education, license renewal coursework and other career advancement opportunities that may not lead to a traditional certification.

  • Chickasaw Nation residents or Chickasaws at-large

Application Dates

  • Students can apply year-round
  • Submit application before program end date to be eligible

  • Invoice or billing statement from the training facility with all program costs itemized
  • High school equivalency, or high school or college transcript

Career and Technical Education Support

Career and Technical Education (CTE) Grant
Up to $6,000Per certification

Provides up to $6,000 in financial assistance to students enrolled in an approved CTE program.

Certification Completion Incentive
Based on training clock hoursOne award per certification

Provides a one-time financial incentive to Chickasaw students upon completion of an approved training, certification or licensure program.

Exam and Licensure Assistance Grant
Assists with exam or licensure costPer exam or licensure

This grant provides up to $500 per exam or licensure fee. Students submitting for reimbursement must submit documents within six months from the date of the exam.

Graduation Cord Program
Cord providedOne award per certification

Provides full-time Chickasaw students with a cord to wear during graduation ceremonies. Students may receive one award per certification.

Textbook, Supplies and Digital Learning Grant
Up to $800Once per certification

Provides up to $800 in value for required textbooks, supplies and digital learning items as determined by the student’s program.
