Young Chickasaw ladies ages 7-25 are invited to discover how to be a Chickasaw Princess at the Princess in Training event. Activities include application preparation, learning about traditional dress, discussing pageant tips and tricks, language lessons and practicing interview skills. Lunch will be provided with a gift for each registered attendee.
The Chickasaw Princesses serve as ambassadors of the Chickasaw Nation and advocate for their community and tribe during their reign, exemplifying servant leadership.
The Princess in Trainings will take place May 23 at the McSwain Theatre in Ada from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (RSPV deadline May 15).
Door prize drawings will be available for the first 10 eligible attendees who register by the due dates.
The Chickasaw Princess Pageant crowns the year’s royalty each fall during the Chickasaw Annual Meeting and Festival.
Age requirements:
- 17-25 for Chickasaw Princess
- 12-16 for Chickasaw Junior Princess
- 7-11 for Little Miss Chickasaw
Each applicant must be a registered citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and at least one-quarter Chickasaw. They must live within the Chickasaw Nation and be currently enrolled in a recognized educational institution or employed in a professional capacity. Additional eligibility requirements apply.
