When a young boy named Jesse befriends an orca held in captivity at a marine park, he discovers the whale Willy – has suffered mistreatment and longs to return to the wild. As their bond grows, Jesse enlists the help of caring adults to carry out a daring plan to free Willy and reunite him with his family in the ocean.
