Country artist Jordan Rainer is gearing up for a June 22 performance at the McSwain Theatre, 130 W. Main St., Ada, Oklahoma.

The performance at the theater, which is owned and operated by the Chickasaw Nation, is part of Rainer’s “Straight Shot” Tour and marks the artist’s first appearance at the iconic McSwain Theatre.

“We are so excited to welcome Jordan Rainer to Ada and the historic McSwain Theatre,” Jae L. Stilwell, McSwain Theatre manager, said.

“For more than 100 years, McSwain audiences have enjoyed performances from a vast array of talented artists, and we are thrilled to add Jordan Rainer, a Chickasaw artist, to the mix.”

From Atoka, Oklahoma, to center stage, Rainer is an award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

Rainer, a Chickasw citizen, has spent the last few months performing a wide variety of shows across the U.S. With a guitar slung over her shoulder, Rainer has brought a unique rock edge to the country music scene and has been stirring up quite the buzz in Nashville and Texas country music alike.

The “Straight Shot” Tour includes concert dates in at least nine states.

“I’m doing some shows where it’s an intimate acoustic experience and other shows I’m bringing my full band and we’re putting on the full production. But let me tell you something, this ‘Straight Shot’ Tour is an opportunity for me to embrace my fans,” Rainer said in a January interview.

Music has been a constant in Rainer’s life since birth. Her father is a bluegrass player, and her mother is a pianist and vocal teacher.

“Anytime there was an instrument laying around the house, or if we went to a friend’s house and they had a guitar in the corner, that’s where you’d find me. I just gravitated toward instruments and making music.”

Rainer is known for her onstage persona, the woman in black. Dressed in all black from head to toe and wearing sunglasses, she credits a performance at the Chickasaw Princess Pageant as the impetus for performing in shades. Her mother told her not to wear them, she rebuffed and wore them anyway.

“I put on that hat. I put on those shades, and I feel invincible. I hope to be a symbol of how strong we are not just as women, but as Oklahomans, as Chickasaws, and this is my way of visually representing strength.”

Her fans, Spitfire Nation, reflect Rainer’s can-do, determined attitude.

As a top finalist on NBC’s “The Voice,” and the 2023 New Female Artist of the Year in the Texas Country Music Awards, Rainer’s career continues to gain momentum.

With more than 1 million followers combined across all social media platforms and an astounding 500 million views on TikTok, her fan base grows by the day and concert tickets sell fast.

Rainer has shared the stage with country music icons such as Luke Combs, Craig Morgan, Lee Ann Womack, Hunter Hayes, Brantley Gilbert and more.

About the McSwain

Beginning with silent movies and vaudeville shows, the historic McSwain Theatre has stood at the corner of east Main and Townsend in Ada since 1920 and has cemented its place in music history by hosting a variety of musical acts.

Budding musicians as well as nationally known musical entertainers have shined in the McSwain Theatre spotlight. The theater’s historical influence on the music scene includes appearances by Oklahomans Mae Boren Axton, Blake Shelton, Hoyt Axton and Gene Autry.
