COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance: Landlords

Out of an abundance of caution and to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, certain Chickasaw Nation events, classes, facilities, etc., will be postponed, canceled or closed. For a complete list of postponements, cancellations or closures, visit the COVID-19 INFORMATION page. We will continue to update the list as the situation progresses.

The ERA Program is designed to provide rent and utility assistance to eligible households who have experienced financial hardship due directly or indirectly to COVID-19.

Available assistance includes:

  • Current, future and/or past due rent
  • Current, future and/or past due utilities and home energy costs for tenant household
  • Other expenses related to housing

Assistance may be issued for eligible costs incurred between March 13, 2020, through Sept. 30, 2022.

The Emergency Rental Assistance program (ERAP) will no longer accept new applications after July 1, 2022. ERAP will process all applications received up to this date. Eligible applicants who have applied but have not received funding by this date, will still have their application processed.

Eligible landlords may refer their tenant(s) for rental assistance by completing the referral form. Use this form to refer your tenants in need of rental assistance due directly or indirectly to COVID-19. When you submit their contact information, the Chickasaw Nation ERA Program will contact them directly to provide program information, determine eligibility, and invite them to complete an Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Program application. Please refer any tenants you feel may need assistance. You do not need to have knowledge of household income.
