COVID-19 UPDATES

Out of an abundance of caution and to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, certain Chickasaw Nation events, classes, facilities, etc., will be postponed, canceled or closed. Participate in humanitarian projects and learn about diplomacy with the new Chickasaw International Youth Institute (CIYI). Chickasaw high school seniors residing within the Chickasaw Nation are invited to apply for this exciting new program.

The Chickasaw International Youth Institute (CIYI) is an international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural and humanitarian activities involving the exchange of ideas and experiences directly among people of different countries and diverse cultures. Chickasaw International Youth Institute will provide Chickasaw high school seniors with a cross cultural network of engagement and knowledge to be an active force in creating and sustaining a more peaceful world.

You Provide

  • Completed and signed application
  • Completed and signed parental consent form and code of conduct
  • Essay
  • Official high school transcript
  • Letter of recommendation

Eligibility

  • Must be a Chickasaw citizen, residing within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries
  • High school senior
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (on a 4.0) scale

Other Information

Participants will complete a diplomacy immersion course and broaden their worldview through cultural education and specialized trainings April 24-26. Select students will be chosen to experience international travel.
