Chickasaw Employment Program

This program provides temporary employment to prepare Chickasaw citizens to enter the workforce. Citizens can be self-sustaining while gaining valuable on-the-job experience, developing a positive work history and exploring different working environments within the tribe.

Applicants must be a Chickasaw citizen, 22-59 years of age, reside within the Chickasaw Nation and be willing to work 39 hours or less per week.

Program Details

This program provides employment opportunities on a temporary basis for eligible Chickasaw citizens between the ages of 22-59. Designed to help Chickasaw citizens enter the workforce, this program is meant as a stepping stone for future full-time employment within the Chickasaw Nation or communities within its boundaries.

The Chickasaw Nation Area Offices work hand-in-hand with the human resources department to find permanent positions for temporary employees within the Chickasaw Nation. This program allows tribal citizens to work and be self-sustaining while gaining valuable on-the-job experience. Participants of this program are able to develop positive work history and explore different working environments within the tribe.

The temporary jobs available are determined by the participants skill set and the needs of the area office. While working through the area offices, participants are encouraged to apply for full-time positions within the Chickasaw Nation, or to apply for more long-term employment or educational solutions offered through programs like the Career Development Initiative.
