Lyric Theatre features Chickasaws in Disney show

OKLAHOMA CITY – Two talented Chickasaw entertainers are making their Lyric Theatre stage debut in “When You Wish” which runs through Saturday at the Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall.

Ace Greenwood and Brando Roberts are both featured dancers in the production, which showcases the musical magic of the late Walt Disney.

Two shows are slated July 15, a 2 p.m. matinee and the 8 p.m. main performance. The Civic Center is located at 201 N. Walker Ave., near downtown.

Greenwood, although new to musical theatre, has acted in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and performed in multiple Native American dance theatres globally for more than 30 years.

Roberts will be dancing, singing and sharing his Native culture. He is a song composer and has traveled globally entertaining audiences.

“When You Wish” begins with a young girl daydreaming her way through the Disney songbook. The songs are some of the most beloved from Disney animated movies, including “Snow White,” “Pocahontas,” “The Jungle Book,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” and many more.

The show is meant to be enjoyed by the entire family.
