Winter Fruit and Vegetable Program for Seniors

Date: November 02, 2018

The Chickasaw Nation Winter Fruit and Vegetable Program is committed to providing healthy fruits and vegetables to Chickasaw seniors during the winter months to fill the gap between growing seasons in the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program.

Chickasaw seniors, 55 and older, Chickasaw Warrior Society members and Chickasaw citizens who are 100 percent disabled receive a variety of healthy fresh, dried and frozen fruits and vegetables each month, from November through March. These may be picked up from any one of our four nutrition centers located in Ada, Ardmore, Duncan and Purcell. Additionally, nutrition education and food preparation demonstrations are offered.

Seniors who are currently participating in the Chickasaw Nation Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program are already enrolled in the Winter Fruit and Vegetable Program and may visit a nutrition center to receive their fruit and vegetable package.

For questions regarding any of the Chickasaw Nation Farmers’ Market programs, please contact Ada Nutrition Services at (855) 572-3433.
