Try to Remember to Debut in Ada

Date: August 26, 2019

The Chickasaw Nation Performing Arts Department has announced its 2019 tour production: Try to Remember: A Musical Revue. Since 2017, performing arts has taken its annual musical on the road to share performance art with Chickasaw citizens across the state.

This year, the production will be a Broadway-musical revue, featuring a live orchestra underscoring selections from Broadway heavy-hitters, such as Into the Woods, Oklahoma!, and Pippin.

Natalie May, performing arts manager, said the main idea was to do something different. “We wanted to try something new and innovative. In the past, we have produced the typical story musical, and those have been so fun to do,” she said.

Corey King, director of performing arts and director of the production, said of this show, “We have the best of the best in the area in this production. This cast is stacked with talent.”

The cast is comprised of local talent: Catie Caton, Haley Miller, Mika Hinson, Jamie Davis, Zach Garcia, Kelsey Howry, Natalie May, Casey Long, Mitchell Galbreaith, Katie Vallandingham, Corey King and James Wallace.

Try to Remember will premiere in Ada Sept. 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. in the Ataloa Theater on East Central University’s campus.

The cast, crew, and orchestra will take the show to Tishomingo’s Murray State College Sept. 14, and finish in Ardmore (Goddard Center) Sept. 28.
