The Chickasaw Nation offers financial assistance and honor cords to Chickasaw students and graduating high school seniors.
The Chickasaw Nation Youth Support Reimbursement Program provides assistance to Chickasaw students ages 3 to 18, up to high school senior, for expenses related to extracurricular activities and participation in various events, clubs, leagues and activities. Students can receive up to $150 in funding once per school year.
The high school senior expenses program provides reimbursement for expenses related to graduation, including announcements, caps and gowns, class rings, letterman jackets and senior pictures. Students can receive up to $150 in funding one time during their senior year.
Students have until Sept. 30 to submit their applications for both programs at Chickasaw.net/YouthReimbursement.
Honor cords are used to recognize Chickasaw students during high school graduation ceremonies. Braided in yellow, purple and blue rope, the honor cords feature a medallion displaying the Great Seal of the Chickasaw Nation.
Graduating Chickasaw seniors should apply for their honor cords by March 30 to guarantee they are mailed by April 15. Submit applications at Chickasaw.net/HonorCord.
